Two FFA teams advancing to state competition

Two Spring Valley-Wykoff FFA teams competing in career development event (CDE) competitions advanced to state while another will compete in regional competition in February.

Rebekah Hansen, Alexys Harwood, Hannah Lange and Maddie Snitker placed third overall as a team in forestry competition. Individually, Snitker took seventh Lange took eighth, Hansen was ninth and Harwood finished 16th. The team will be attending the state competition at the end of April. 

The soils team consisting of Ethan Carr, Ryley Guy and Jacob Warren took fifth place at a CDE invitational in Lanesboro. All team members placed within the top 20 and they will continue to study as they plan to go to state competition in April. 

The fish and wildlife team, which includes Kadence Aarsvold, Olivia Kappers and Morgan Philips, also competed at Lanesboro. As seventh graders, this was the team’s first competition and the members are looking forward to competing at the upcoming region competition in February.
