Virginia Hoffman, 99, of Grand Meadow, died on Monday, Sept. 3, 2018, at Seasons Hospice in Rochester.

Virginia Sprimont was born on April 5, 1919, in Jefferson, Iowa, to Willard and Fern (Marks) Sprimont.

On Jan. 24, 1939, she was united in marriage to Leonard Hoffman in Roselle, Iowa. To this union, six children were born.

She worked as a supervisor in the housekeeping department at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester, where she retired after 25 years.

She loved the outdoors, spending time gardening, watching birds, mowing lawn, fishing and going on picnics with her family. She was a wonderful cook.

She is survived by her children, Robert (Val) Hoffman of Janesville, Wis., DeAnna (Carlton) Burns of Stewartville, Barbara Hoffman of Janesville, Wis., Pat (Harold) Ostby of Dexter and Bruce (Ellie) Hoffman of Racine; a daughter-in-law, Marcia Hoffman of Rochester; her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren and three siblings, Duane (Donna) Sprimont of Irving, Texas, Kenneth Sprimont of Dayton, Iowa and Sherry Pierce of Sac City, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1994; one son, Ronald; two granddaughters; one grandson; five sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services for her were held on Thursday, Sept. 6, at St. Finbarr Catholic Church in Grand Meadow with the Rev. Marreddy Pothireddy officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to St. Finbarr Catholic Church, The Sisters of St. Francis, Seasons Hospice or to the donors choice.
